Nancy Campbell’s Early Years Program is designed for 2-5 year olds and provides a safe, sequential learning process where academic learning evolves from a secure sense of self. Our trained and qualified staff uses the Virtues Project™ as a means to help children grow in confidence and take on academic learning. We offer a Monday to Friday full-time program with before and after school care available.
Child Care
Nancy Campbell Collegiate Institute’s licensed Child Care Centre offers an education that includes: intellectual, character, social and physical development. We promote supportive relationships among children in our care, their families and our staff. The program supplements and compliments parental care. The foundation of our program is based on creating a nurturing and stimulating atmosphere where self-confidence is encouraged, and an interest in learning is promoted through play and includes an introduction to the French language as well as visual and musical arts.
The role of the educator within NCCI’s pre-school Child Care Centre is that of guide, observer and environment supervisor. The educator helps the children to help themselves so that they may develop the fullness of their potential through independence, inner discipline and discovery. Maximum child/caregiver ratio is 8:1.
Junior and Senior Kindergarten
This program is an extension of our Child Care program including the Virtues Project™. In addition to those aspects of the program mentioned above, this program incorporates the Ontario Curriculum as a base for program planning, yet continues to keep all opportunities open if a child expresses an intrinsic interest to advance. Maximum student/teacher ratio is 10:1 – Junior Kindergarten, 15:1 Senior Kindergarten. |
