Nancy Campbell Collegiate Institute (NCCI) has been rated as one of the top sixteen private schools in Ontario. As an accredited institution by the Ontario Ministry of Education, NCCI offers education from junior kindergarten to grade 12.

TOEFL Centre and Adult ESL Education Program

As part of its curricula, NCCI has a well-developed ESL program that welcomes students of all ages into its nurturing atmosphere. A new program that focuses only on adults (20 years of age or older) is available for those wanting to improve their conversational English. The program can be customized for different professionals. The students will attend ESL school from 9 AM to 4 PM at which time they will be free to enjoy their evening or to study. Students who wish to participate in activities twice per week or an activity on the weekend (Saturday or Sunday) are welcome. These activities are optional for the adult student and may require an additional payment. They include:

• A visit to the CN Tower and tour of Toronto or a Blue Jays baseball game depending on the season
• Dinner and a movie with NCCI ESL staff
• Niagara Falls with a boat ride near the Falls
• Barbecue and Baseball game in the snow
• Skiing or snowboarding
• Tobogganing party in the snow
• International potlucks
• Trip to Wildfire Education Centre
• Tour of Ottawa (3 days)
• Tour of an Iroquoian Village

This program will be offered to groups of 8 or more adults who wish to learn to speak English in a Canadian setting. Groups are welcome to attend but NCCI ESL staff will need advance notice. These students will have the opportunity to assess their English at the newly established TOEFL Centre at NCCI.

The TOEFL or the Test of English as a Foreign Language assesses the reading, listening, writing, and speaking skills of nonnative English speakers. Students who are planning to attend university or college in North America use the TOEFL score for their application to post-secondary education. Experienced teachers will be present at the TOEFL Centre and TOEFL Preparation kits will be available to purchase.
