Parent Child Program
(PC Program)
Nancy Campbell Collegiate Institute
London, Ontario
CANADA
Program Highlights:
This program is designed to engage younger children to learn English in a nurturing
environment. Children, grades 1-8, will participate in school activities and learning that
take place in our elementary school. One parent will accompany their child and spend
several weeks at our school. The parents will have the opportunity to learn English as
well with other adults or to experience the culture of London during the day while their
child is in school.
The classroom setting will encourage immersion with only 2-3 students in a classroom
along with the full-time NCCI students. These students will not attend core French class.
They will attend one period of English as a Second Language (ESL) with an ESL teacher
with the consent of the parent. Students in the short-term program will participate in
speaking, writing, reading, listening, playing games in the classroom and socializing
during outdoor activities. Each parent will receive a weekly report on his or her child’s
progress.
