Residential Life Residential/Homestay Application

Residential life at Nancy Campbell Collegiate is an exciting, disciplined experience, aimed at furthering students' understanding of Unity in Diversity. New paths of learning are open to all, allowing students to express virtues and capabilities while living in a positive social environment. This experience prepares students to be independent, blending the elements of discipline, recreation and spiritual transformation.

We expect adherence to the highest levels of courtesy and respect by our students as a condition for their stay. All members of the residence are expected to maintain the highest standards of honesty and integrity, and are required to abide by the regulations and procedures of residential living.

Part of the residential experience is learning to live in a residential community with many other students. Hence it is imperative that behaviour be considerate of others and self-controlled. Dorms must be free of excessive noise.

Certain privileges have been established to recognize students who demonstrate consistent, responsible behaviour. It should also be noted that any or all privileges may be limited or removed as a result of irresponsible behaviour.

Residential students are encouraged to develop strong moral capabilities by basing their choices and decisions on principles that cultivate spiritual attitudes in whatever they do. Community Circle is conducted in residence during the evening. Dorm parents facilitate devotions and discussions similar in manner to the school's morning assembly.

Home Cooked Meals

Fresh food is prepared daily with an international flavour, catering to the dietary needs of students.

Transportation

There is good public transportation in London; students have easy access to bus services.

Pocket Money

Students are responsible for their own finances and are required to open a bank account. We recommend one of the following banks: Bank of Nova Scotia, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Royal Bank and Toronto-Dominion/Canada Trust Bank. For more information regarding finances, please refer to the school Fee Schedule.

Homestay Option

Our home-stay program is ideal for younger high school students (Grades 7-10) looking for a nurturing home away from home, or international students wanting to experience a cultural exchange in a comfortable, encouraging English-speaking environment.

International students are able to gain confidence and improve their English speaking and comprehension skills in the friendly, relaxed atmosphere of the home-stay family.  Our home-stay coordinator carefully screens prospective host families to ensure that students will receive the care they need, choosing families that have a strong interest in hosting a student and who enjoy involving students in their family activities.
