Differences that make a Difference

Accredited English as a Second Language program (ESL)
As you study English, you can earn credits towards your Canadian high-school diploma.

Nancy Campbell’s English as a Second Language (ESL) program is a vivacious community of hard-working students and staff. Youth come to Nancy Campbell from all over the world—with major representation from China, Korea, and Mexico—to embrace the school’s unique vision and high-quality language instruction. Beginner-level ESL students engage in an intensive language study program, while more advanced students round off their language skills with content from mainstream high school courses.

Together, the members of NCCI’s ESL department — the school’s largest department — have designed a thoroughly comprehensive program, spanning the Ministry of Education’s five levels of language instruction and covering all major subject areas: reading, writing, oral and visual communication, and social and cultural competence. As a goal, the department wishes not only to help students get into the postsecondary program of their choice, but to equip students with the language skills and the cultural know-how to successfully complete the postsecondary program of their choice.
